Synthesites to contribute with multiple papers at the 12th International Conference on Flow Processes in Composite Materials

Synthesites to present a cutting edge technology at FPCM'12

In the 12th International Conference on Flow Processes in Composite Materials (FPCM 12) that will be held from 14th – 16th of July 2014 at the University of Twente, Enschede, the Netherlands, Dr Nikos Pantelelis, R&D Director of Synthesites will present our revolutionary Vibration Asissted Vacuum Infusion (VIVA) system. The use of this system helps to reduce void content and improve compaction using conventional production methods for aerospace parts at industrial level. The developed 1.5x1 m metal tool can be vibrated at 100Hz and heated in an oven at temperatures up to 200oC at a fully operational environment.

In the same conference Nikos will be also presenting the paper entitled 'Combining process simulation and sensing for optimised composites manufacturing' co-authored by Arjen Koorevaar from Polyworx, reporting the progress of our involvement in Ecomise project. You can download the presentation at the download section.

Finally, Synthesites is involved indirectly in the paper entitled 'Monitoring non-isothermal polymerization and crystallization of cyclic butylene terephthalate composites manufactured by RTM', by Inigo Ortiz de Mendibil et al from Mondragon Unibertsitatea, Spain, as we have provided the equipment and technical support on this issue.
