Polyworx BV is a small SME (3 fte) that is a leading supplier of flow analysis software (RTM-Worx) and infusion technology. Founded in 1997 to develop and market software for which prototypes had been developed by the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research TNO and the Technical University of Eindhoven.
For the RTM-Worx software most customers are in Aerospace, Wind Energy and Automotive, as well as several Universities and Technical Institutes. For infusion technology (which includes design & implementation of manufacturing methods, training of personnel, assistance with acquisition of materials and equipment, design of laminates, advice on mould design) the main markets are boatbuilding (commercial and navy) and infrastructure (composite bridges and road panels).
In 2010, a worldwide record for the largest single shot injection of 6300 kg was established with Polyworx CVI technology at RMK Shipyard in Tuzla, Turkey. In 2011, this record was broken by an infusion of 14000 kg in a single shot for a 62 meter long minesweeper with a novel manufacturing process which allows infusion of large structures without being limited by height, developed, implemented and coordinated by Polyworx for SNSZ Shipyard in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Main strengths of Polyworx are robustness and ease of use of the software, and the unique combination of in house experience with both flow modelling and implementation of the manufacturing technology in production environments.
